Flight Centre Travel Group are looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Global Land Supply division on a fixed-term contract. This area is the centralised point for invoice processing, supplier payments, and assistance regarding the resolution of any finance issues that may arise for our procurement business.

In this role, you will provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the organisation, ensuring timely and accurate payments to our suppliers. This role is primarily responsible for invoice processing, accounts reconciliation, payment disbursement and the associated queries from internal and external stakeholders.

A Day in the Life…

• Invoice Processing.
• Payment disbursement and cash management.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations – Vendor ledger, prepayment, unallocated cash, virtual credit card etc.
• Tracking and reporting.
• Maintain supplier information in the Accounts Payable System.
• Work cohesively with the wider finance team to make sure accounts payable processes are followed accurately.
• Perform, review and manage the entire accounts payable process.
• Interact across divisions, with upper-level management and with vendors.
• Assist supporting our 3-way matching of invoices with our teams that manage this system and process.
• Code, enter and match purchase ledger invoices to purchase orders.
• Support audit requirements.
• Administration and training support.
• Financial control and end of month activities.
• Query resolution – Banking, partners and stakeholder relationship.
• Provide analysis and support to the management accounting team or liaise directly with selling partners.

How we can count on you!

• Fluency in financial concepts.
• Ability to think ‘outside the box’ and problem solve.
• Excellent back-office system knowledge.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable role.
• Ability to interpret bank statements, supplier invoices/statements and documentation.
• Highly developed customer service skills to ensure mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers, partners and customers.
• Ability to use Microsoft productivity software such as Excel and Word.
• Experience working with and communicating with Vendors.
• Accounts Payable or Procure to Pay experience (Essential).
• Degree in Accounting/Finance /Commerce (Desirable).
• Travel Industry knowledge (Desirable).
